The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine announces a competition for awards named after outstanding scientists of Ukraine in 2024.
In order to honor scientists who published the best scientific works, made inventions and discoveries that are important for the development of science and the economy of Ukraine, the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine awards prizes named after outstanding scientists of Ukraine.

1. The following can participate in the competition for awards named after outstanding scientists:

a) active members and corresponding members of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, regardless of their place of permanent work;

b) individuals who work in scientific institutions, institutions of higher education, enterprises and organizations located on the territory of Ukraine;

c) collectives of authors who performed the work proposed for awarding the prize, if the majority of authors work in the institutions provided for in subparagraph "b" of this clause.

The right to nominate works for personal awards is granted to:
a) valid members and corresponding members of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine;

b) scientific institutions, institutions of higher education, research laboratories and stations, design bureaus;

c) scientific and technical councils of ministries and agencies of Ukraine;
d) scientific councils on the problems of science;

e) technical councils of industrial enterprises;

f) scientific and engineering-technical associations and societies.

1. A panel nominated for a named award should include only the principal authors whose contribution was most significant. The total number of authors cannot exceed three people. The composition of the author's team does not include persons who have already been awarded this named prize.
2. The following can be nominated for personal awards:

• scientific works only after at least 6 months, but no more than 5 years, have passed after their publication;
• inventions and discoveries after their implementation.

1. The deadline for submitting work to the competition is November 1, 2024.
2. Organizations and individuals who nominated a scientific work for a named prize submit it to the relevant branch of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine on the organization's letterhead with the inscription "For winning a named prize...":

a) a published work (series of works) or materials about a scientific discovery (invention);

b) an abstract, including a scientific description of the work and conclusions regarding its importance for the development of science and the needs of the state;

c) copies of copyright certificates and certificates of discovery;

d) in appropriate cases, documents on the implementation of work (copies of resolutions, orders, acts and certificates on technical and economic indicators of implementation);

e) test reports (for new designs of machines, technological processes, etc.);

f) reviews of the scientific community, the press about the work;
g) a detailed reference in percentage-number form about the creative contribution of each member of the author's team to the work nominated for the competition.  The certificate is drawn up separately for each author and is signed by the head of the institution at the author's place of work and affixed with a seal;

h) biographical information about the author(s) (surname, first name, patronymic, year and month of birth, specialty, honorary title, academic degree, academic title, position, work and home addresses, work and home telephone numbers; author identification code) in 2 copies, signed by him, and their compliance is certified by the management and the seal of the institution at the place of work, as well as a color personal photo 9 x 12 in paper and electronic form.

Works that have been awarded the State Prize of Ukraine, named prizes of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and branch academies of countries, or special prizes of other departments awarded by competitions are not accepted for the competition.

Collections of scientific works by more than three authors are not accepted for the competition.

1. O.I. Ahiezer Prize - for outstanding scientific works in the field of theoretical physics and plasma physics (Department of Nuclear Physics and Energy).
2. O.O. Bogomolets Prize - for outstanding scientific works in the field of physiology and pathophysiology (Department of Biochemistry, Physiology and Molecular Biology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine).
3. O.I. Brodsky Prize - for outstanding scientific works in the field of the theory of chemical structure, kinetics and reactivity (Department of Chemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine).
4. The V.E. Lashkarev Award - for outstanding results in the field of semiconductor physics and semiconductor device engineering (Department of Physics and Astronomy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine).
5. V.M. Hlushkov Prize - for outstanding achievements in the field of cybernetics, general theory of computing machines and systems (Department of Informatics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine).
6. O.M. Dynnyk Prize - for outstanding scientific works in the field of mechanics and mechanical engineering (Department of Mechanics and Mechanical Science of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine).
7. M.M. Dobrokhotov Prize - for outstanding scientific works in the field of metallurgy and materials science (Department of Materials Science of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine).
8. D.K. Zabolotny Prize - for outstanding scientific works in the field of microbiology, virology, epidemiology (Department of Biochemistry, Physiology and Molecular Biology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine).
9. Award named after A. Yu. Krymsky - for outstanding scientific works in the field of Oriental Studies (Department of History, Philosophy and Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine).

1. Award named after A.F. Prykhotko - for outstanding work in the field of laser physics, optics and crystallography (Department of Physics and Astronomy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine);

11. Prize named after I.P. Pulyuy - for outstanding work in the field of applied physics.

1. E.K. Lazarenko Prize - for outstanding results in the field of mineralogy, crystallography and petrography (Department of Earth Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine).
2. Yu.O. Mitropolsky Prize - for outstanding scientific works in the theories of differential equations, dynamical systems and nonlinear oscillations (Department of Mathematics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine).
3. Award named after M.V. Ostrogradsky - for outstanding scientific works in the field of mathematics and mathematical problems of mechanics and physics (Department of Mathematics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine).
4. O.O. Potebny Prize - for outstanding scientific works in the field of linguistics, philosophy, language and folk art (Department of Literature, Language and Art History of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine).
5. K. D. Synelnikov Prize - for outstanding works in the field of nuclear physics (Department of Nuclear Physics and Energy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine).

17. V.I. Trefilov Prize - for outstanding work in the field of physics of strength and plasticity of materials (Department of Materials Science of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine)

1. M.I. Tugan-Baranovsky Prize - for outstanding scientific works in the field of economics (Department of Economics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine).
2. M.H. Kholodny Prize - for outstanding scientific works in the field of botany, physiology and ecology of plants (Department of General Biology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine).
