The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine announces a competition for awards for young scientists and students of higher education institutions for the best scientific works.

Every year (in February), the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine awards fourteen prizes for young scientists and fourteen prizes for students of higher education institutions for works in the field of natural, technical and social and humanitarian sciences. Prizes are awarded to individual authors or a group of authors for the best scientific works, as well as for a series of scientific works on a single topic, for discoveries and inventions. The team nominated for awarding the award should include only the main authors whose contribution was the most significant, and should consist of no more than three people. Prize winners are awarded diplomas of the prescribed format at the general meeting of the relevant branch of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

Works that have previously been awarded prizes of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, sectoral academies of sciences or special prizes of other departments awarded by competitions will not be accepted for the competition.

Collections of scientific works by different authors are also not accepted for the competition.

1. Researchers, teachers, research interns, postgraduate students of research institutions up to the age of 35, students of higher education institutions, as well as students and post-graduate students of foreign countries studying in scientific institutions and institutions of higher education of Ukraine can participate in the competition.
2. The right to nominate candidates for awards is granted to: valid members and corresponding members of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine; academic councils of scientific institutions and institutions of higher education, boards (presidiums) of ministries and departments of Ukraine, technical councils of industrial enterprises, design bureaus, councils of scientific and scientific and technical societies, which is confirmed by an extract from the minutes of a meeting of the academic council of an institution or a corresponding body of an enterprise, organization or departments.

Works performed by young scientists are accepted by the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine for a competition based on the submission of relevant ministries, departments, organizations and councils.

1. The deadline for submitting work to the competition is December 15, 2024.
2. The organization that nominated the work for awarding the prize to young scientists and students submits to the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (01601, Kyiv, 54 Volodymyrska St., phone numbers for inquiries: (044) 239-64-24; (044) 239-64 -63) in a properly formatted form with the inscription on the title page: "For winning prizes of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine for young scientists (students)" and indicating the department of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine according to the subject of the work:

a) the institution's official letter regarding sending a specific work to the competition (on a letterhead) in 2 copies, sealed with the institution's seal;

b) a justified presentation, including the title, scientific description of the work and a short abstract;

c) published scientific work (series of works), materials of scientific research or invention in 2 identically designed copies - for the competition of young scientists;

d) scientific work, materials of scientific research or invention in 1 copy - for a student competition;

e) a specific certificate in percentage-number form about the creative contribution of each member of the author's team, which consists of two or three people, to the work or a series of works nominated for the competition;
f) a certificate that the works submitted to the competition have not previously been awarded prizes of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, etc.;

g) at least two reviews by third-party organizations (indicating their address);

h) information about the author: surname, first name, patronymic, full date of birth, place of work, scientific degree and position (for students – higher education institution, faculty, course in expanded form), home and e-mail addresses, phone number (work, home and mobile), a photocopy of the certificate on the provision of an identification code;

i) consent to the collection and processing of personal data (on the appropriate form).

All materials submitted to the competition must be appropriately formatted: works (unpublished) signed by the authors, references and recommendations by the heads of institutions (institutions of higher education) and sealed with the seal of the given institution. The page volume of each accompanying document is not regulated.

1. Improperly designed works are not allowed to participate in the competition.
2. The works for which the prize was not awarded are not stored in the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and can be returned to their authors by the relevant departments upon request.
