Competition Announced for State Named Scholarships for the Best Young Scientists to Commemorate the Events of the Revolution of Dignity and Honor the Heroic Deeds of the Heroes of Ukraine – the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred

On August 22, 2025, the competition for state named scholarships for the best young scientists will begin. The scholarships aim to commemorate the events of the Revolution of Dignity and honor the heroic deeds of the Heroes of Ukraine – the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred. This decision was approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

Applications will be accepted until September 22, 2025, through the National Electronic Research Information System “URIS.” Submit applications here: https://nauka.gov.ua/information/ns2025/.

Each year, on the Day of Dignity and Freedom, the Ministry of Education and Science awards 25 scholarships for one year in the amount of two subsistence minimums for able-bodied persons. Payments start on January 1 of the following year.

The scholarships are awarded in five categories:

  • Named after Dmytro Maksymov
  • Named after Nazariy Voitovych
  • Named after Roman Huryk
  • Named after Ustym Holodniuk
  • Named after Yuriy Popravka

Eligibility criteria:

  • Age as of January 1 of the payment year: up to 35 years for master’s degree holders, and up to 40 years for PhD holders or doctoral candidates
  • Significant scientific achievements (monographs, articles in Web of Science, Scopus, patents, etc.)
  • Active civic engagement

Detailed conditions are specified in the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 1017 dated November 21, 2018 (as amended).
