The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (NAS of Ukraine) and the Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAS), on the basis of the Agreement concluded between them, announce a call for joint Ukrainian–Slovak projects for 2026–2027.

Conditions of the Call

On the Ukrainian side, projects are eligible if submitted by researchers affiliated with institutions of the NAS of Ukraine, in partnership with researchers from the SAS.

Agreed applications must be submitted by the Ukrainian co-leaders of projects to the NAS of Ukraine in both Ukrainian and English; the Slovak co-leaders of projects must submit to the SAS.

In total, three (3) two-year mobility projects will be selected, one for each of the three scientific sections of the NAS of Ukraine:

• Physical, Technical and Mathematical Sciences,
  
• Chemical and Biological Sciences,
  
• Social Sciences and Humanities.
  

The maximum exchange quota is 14 days per research team per year / project for each side.

Ineligible applications:

• projects submitted after the established deadline;
  
• projects not prepared in accordance with the rules;
  
• uncoordinated projects;
  
• projects submitted by only one side.
  

Applications admitted to the competition undergo an independent parallel evaluation. Evaluation on the Ukrainian side is carried out by the NAS of Ukraine, and on the Slovak side – by the SAS. Each side reviews the applications independently according to its own rules. Information about the evaluation process is confidential.

The two sides jointly summarize the results based on the evaluation and in accordance with the established exchange quota. The decision on supporting selected projects is approved by the Resolution of the Presidium of the NAS of Ukraine. The results of the call will be announced in December 2025. The approved list of Ukrainian–Slovak research projects to be implemented within the framework of the Agreement on Scientific Cooperation between the NAS of Ukraine and the SAS during the specified period will be published on the website of the NAS of Ukraine: http://www.nas.gov.ua.

Researcher exchanges within the approved projects are carried out in accordance with the established exchange quota.

Financial Conditions of Researcher Exchange

• The sending side covers the travel expenses of its researchers to and from the other country.
  
• The hosting side covers accommodation and per diem or meals.
  

Application Deadline

The deadline for submission of applications is 30 September 2025.

Applications on the Ukrainian side, prepared in accordance with the forms established by the NAS of Ukraine, should be sent together with a cover letter addressed to:
