The Center for East European and International Studies (ZOiS) announces a competition for scholarships for Ukrainian scientists within the framework of the Ukraine Research Network@ZOiS (UNET) project.
The goal of the project is to encourage research, spread information about Ukraine and its latest research trends among journalists, scientists, government officials and politicians.
Scholarships are offered to Ukrainian scientists who are engaged in research in the field of social sciences in Ukraine or are ready to work on it in Berlin.
ZOiS invites applications for innovative research proposals that focus on one or more of the following 5 key issues—disciplinary and interdisciplinary social science projects that examine the social, political, economic, cultural, and environmental consequences of the contemporary Russo-Ukrainian war, with particular with emphasis on the following:
Diversity, identities, and social differences
Decentralization and local development
Internal and transnational migration
Democracy and governance
Social environmental problems
The project should include the following components:
Empirical documentation and analysis of reality during/after the war
Practical implications for decision-making in Ukraine and abroad.
The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
The application deadline is March 10, 2023.
