The State Scientific and Technical Library of Ukraine is pleased to announce the Conference on Ukraine’s Reconstruction in the Field of Research and Higher Education, which will take place on 17 September 2025 in Brno, Czech Republic, with a live online broadcast.
Over the past eleven years, Ukraine has demonstrated remarkable resilience in the face of ongoing Russian aggression. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion in 2022, the country has had to channel significant resources into defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity. These challenges have profoundly impacted the development of Ukraine’s research and innovation ecosystem. At the same time, neighboring EU countries and international partners share a collective responsibility to support the revitalization of Ukraine’s scientific structures.
The conference is organized within the framework of the project “Research Infrastructures for the Future of Ukraine: Roadmap for Sustained Growth and Recovery (RIFF)”. Its main goal is to foster meaningful cooperation between European and Ukrainian academic communities, while also consolidating Ukrainian stakeholders to identify pathways for recovery and modernization of the research and higher education sectors.
The event will bring together researchers, policymakers, representatives of academic institutions, and funding organizations. In addition to engaging panel discussions, the conference will serve as a networking platform, laying the foundation for concrete actions aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s research and higher education systems.
The program will focus on:
The reconstruction of Ukraine’s research, higher education, and research infrastructure systems;
Presentations of international support initiatives, highlighting contributions from the European Union, individual member states, and third-country partners.
The detailed agenda is available in the attached materials.
Registration is open until 15 September 2025. After confirmation of participation, all registered attendees will receive a connection link via e-mail a few days before the event.
We warmly invite researchers, academics, government representatives, and civil society actors to join this important international conference, which marks a pivotal step toward shaping the future of Ukrainian science and higher education.
