Pidstryhach Institute for Applied Problems of Mechanics and Mathematics National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine conducts research in the fields of mathematics, mathematical problems of mechanics, and mathematical modeling.
The Institute is entrusted with carrying out scientific research in the following main areas:
· fundamental and applied problems of the mechanics of deformable solids;
· processes of initiation, interaction, and propagation of fields of various nature in relation to problems of mechanics, physical materials science, geophysics, and new technologies;
· development of theoretical models of deformable solids with extended physical and mechanical properties;
· study of theoretical and applied problems of mathematics related to non-classical problems of mechanics.
