Bukovinian State Medical University

Bukovinian State Medical University (BSMU) is one of the largest higher educational establishments in Chernivtsi. It is a fully governmental multistructural educational institution providing educational programs in different levels. BSMU is included into the general register of the WHO, Magna Charta Universitatum (Bologna, Italy), European University Association (EUA), Association of the Carpathian Region Universities.

Over the years of its existence (1944-2023) the University has trained more than 30 000 specialists including the following specialties: General Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, Pediatrics, Medical Psychology, and Clinical Pharmacy.

The University's research activity is aimed at supporting and recognizing existing scientific schools, establishing and developing new directions of science, taking into account current fundamental and applied directions; formation of personnel potential capable of ensuring the development and implementation of innovative scientific developments; publication of the obtained results in local and international journals, included in the leading databases of scientific literature.

Considerable attention is paid to the organization of the training of scientific personnel by conducting educational seminars on the issues of inventive activity, patent and information research, and copyright; expansion and updating of the topics of scientific conferences; increasing the number of scientific Internet conferences, webinars and workshops; active involvement of foreign scientists as speakers and specialists of educational and scientific institutions of university clinics. On the basis of the best European models, separate experimental programs for the training of specialists are being created within the framework of the third cycle, which are based on the relevant criteria and principles, and a complex of interdisciplinary methodological courses has been developed for young scientists with the aim of integration into the international scientific space. The "Educational and Scientific Laboratory of BSMU" operates and is actively developing at the university.

The following are actively working at the university: Specialized Scientific Council D 76.600.02 with the right to accept for consideration and conduct the defense of theses for obtaining the scientific degree of Doctor of Sciences in the specialties 14.01.10 "Pediatrics" and 14.03.04 "Pathological physiology" (Order of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ukraine No. 530 of 06.06.2022); Specialized Scientific Council D 76.600.01 with the right to accept for consideration and conduct the defense of theses for obtaining the scientific degree of Doctor of Sciences in the specialties 14.01.03 "Surgery", 14.01.22 "Dentistry", 14.03.01 "Normal Anatomy", (Order of the Ministry of Education of Ukraine No. 894 dated 10.10.2022).

The "Intellectual funds of BSMU" repository was created and is actively functioning, which is updated according to modern requirements, with a connection to the national repository of Ukraine; the "Periodical Publications" database is being filled in the electronic catalog of the "IRBIS-64" library. The University provides a continuity of higher medical education:
