Until 2020, the laboratory of social pedagogy and social work was called the laboratory of social pedagogy.
The laboratory was founded in 2003. The purpose of the laboratory's activity is the theoretical substantiation of innovative approaches to social pedagogy and social work, the development of methodological approaches and socio-pedagogical technologies in educational institutions of various types, the determination of objective patterns and trends in personality education in various social institutions (systems) and purposeful application them in practice. Tasks of the laboratory: development of the theory and methods of education of the growing individual in society; study and analysis of socio-pedagogical theories and practices of foreign countries; development of socio-pedagogical forms and methods of education; instrumental provision of the process of socialization of the individual in educational institutions; development of technologies for socio-pedagogical support and social-pedagogical support of vulnerable categories of children and school youth. The main directions of the laboratory's work: the study of the socio-value activities of schoolchildren, the study of foreign experience of civic education and upbringing; study of the peculiarities of social and pedagogical support for the formation of a responsible civic position of children from families of forced migrants; study of the essential characteristics of the educational potential of the family; creation of socio-pedagogical technology for increasing the educational potential of parents from families of forced migrants; determination of the content-technological characteristics of the implementation of social-pedagogical support for the formation of leadership qualities of children by means of non-formal education; monitoring of social, value and family-oriented expectations and life strategies of modern student youth; development of diagnostic tools for monitoring social expectations; conducting consultations for social pedagogues of educational institutions of various levels and social workers; preparation of scientific and methodical literature on issues of social pedagogy and social work.
