Department of systemic research of scientific and technological potential

The primary objective of the department's activities is to conduct fundamental scientific research on the most pressing issues related to the development of Ukraine's scientific, technical, socio-economic, socio-political, and human potential to ensure its global competitiveness and the sustainable development of society and the state. The department also focuses on fostering the development and enhancing the quality of fundamental and applied research in the fields of scientific, technological, and innovation policy formation and implementation in Ukraine, leveraging the opportunities provided by the modern advancements in scientometric methods and improving the coordination of activities carried out in these areas by institutions of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Additionally, it ensures high-quality training of higher education professionals at the scientific level (Doctor of Philosophy).

The department's priority research area is the synthesis of experience, long-term trends, regularities, and justification of measures to address the challenges of developing Ukraine's scientific and technical potential in the context of global science and the tasks of building a knowledge-based economy and knowledge society in Ukraine. The department conducts studies in the fields of science studies and scientometrics. Certain research projects are driven by priority directives from the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
