Ruslan Mykhailovych Mizyuk (born 1976), Associate Professor, Candidate of Medical Sciences. In 2000, he graduated from the IFDMA. In 2000-2005, he worked as an assistant at the Department of Microbiology, from 2006 as an assistant, and from 2020 as an associate professor at the Department of Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology. In 2016, he defended his PhD thesis on the topic: “Study of the antimicrobial activity of cultivated and wild medicinal plants of Galicia against the main pathogens of purulent-septic infections”. In 2022, he was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor. A first-category doctor, he consults patients in the outpatient department of the AIDS Center of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Council and in medical and preventive institutions of the region. Research work is related to the study of the resistance of microorganisms to antimicrobial agents and ways to overcome it. Co-executor of the department's research on the topic "The course of infectious diseases against the background of concomitant pathology, combined chronic infections and invasions, treatment correction", state registration number 0119U100571, implementation period 2019-2023, head - Dr. Med. Sci., Prof. Pryshlyak O.Ya., conducts research in the direction of studying the features of the course of viral hepatitis B, C, HIV infection, intestinal and parasitic infections, COVID-19 against the background of diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular diseases, metabolic syndrome. He is a co-author of 58 scientific papers (1 of which is in a journal indexed in the Scopus scientometric database), 1 proposal, 2 patents of Ukraine for a utility model, manuals “Methods of sanitary examination of food products and hygienic assessment of nutrition of the population”, “Sanitary, hygienic and anti-epidemic regime in medical and preventive institutions” and “The lectures from Epidemiology for the 5th course students specialty 222 Medicine”.
He teaches the disciplines "Epidemiology and Principles of Evidence-Based Medicine" and "Infectious Diseases" for 5th and 6th year students of the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Foreign Citizens, and 4th year students of the Faculty of Dentistry in English and Ukrainian. He gives a course of lectures in English on epidemiology for 5th year foreign students of the specialty "Medicine", conducts classes and gives lectures to interns in the specialization "General Practice - Family Medicine", "Radiology". He works with students of the thematic improvement course "Diagnosis and Management of HIV Patients in the Conditions of Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Levels of Medical Care". In 2018, he received a "Gratitude" from the IFNMU administration for a significant contribution to the development of student science. In 2021, he completed a scientific internship "Communication with the patient and prevention of professional burnout" at Soleria AnaMija, which is a clinical base of the College of Medicine of the University of Opole. Republic of Poland. In 2022, he received the Examination and Education Centre, Certificate in English, CEFR B2 Level, which confirms a sufficiently high level of proficiency in a foreign English language. In 2017, he was appointed Deputy Executive Secretary, and since 2018, Executive Secretary of the Final Examination Board at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Opole.
