Любомир Заяць

Біографія

In 1980, he graduated from the Ivano-Frankivsk State Medical Institute. From 1980 to 1981, he served as an intern at the Chernihiv Regional Hospital. From 1981 to 1983, he worked as a doctor at the emergency medical aid station in Chernihiv. From 1983 until 1987, he worked as a junior researcher in the research institute sector of the Ivano-Frankivsk Medical Institute. From 1987 to 1997, he served as an assistant at the Department of Human Anatomy. From 1997 to 1999, he was an associate professor in the same department. From 1999 to 2007, he was an associate professor at the Department of General Hygiene and Ecology. In April 2007, he was elected the head of the Department of Pathological Physiology by the Scientific Council of the university.

In 1989, he defended his Ph.D. thesis on "Morphofunctional changes in organs in uremic endotoxemia" at the Leningrad State University Institute for the Improvement of Doctors named after S.V. Kirov. In 2006, he defended his doctoral dissertation on "Morphofunctional changes in the lungs under the action of exo- and endogenous factors" at Kyiv National Medical University named after O.O. Bogomolets.

He was awarded honorary diplomas from the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ukraine and the Academy of Pedagogy of Sciences of Ukraine for significant creative contribution and fruitful scientific and pedagogical activity on innovative modernization of education in 2008, 2010-2012, and 2015. In 2009, he received a diploma from the Minister of Health of Ukraine for significant achievements in professional activity and many years of conscientious work.

In 2011, he participated in the international exhibition "Modern Educational Institutions – 2011" in Kyiv from March 2nd to 4th. He was awarded the gold medal of the exhibition and an Honorary diploma from the Ministry of Education and Science, Youth and Sports of Ukraine and the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine.

In September 2017, he received the Ivano-Frankivsk regional medal from the state administration and regional council for "Services to Prykarpattia" for his many years of conscientious work, high professionalism, and active public position.

In 2018, he was honored with the Honorary Award of the Society of Pathophysiologists, the medal "Founders of pathophysiology - Pidvysotskyi and Bogomolets".

In 2019, he was awarded the honorary title "Honored Worker of science and technology of Ukraine" by the President of Ukraine for outstanding achievements in the field of science and technology, which received international recognition, and for training highly qualified scientific personnel.

Prof. Zayats L.M. is the Chairman of the special specialized academic council D.20.601.02 for the defense of the thesis, the Chairman of the expert examination committee "pathological physiology" of licensing exams, a member of the Editorial Board of the journal "Halytskyi medical bulletin", the head of the methodical commission for medical and biological disciplines, a member of the competitive commission of IFNMU, a member of the commission for monitoring the conduct of practical classes, the head of the research work "Pathogenetic mechanisms of the development of changes in the organs of the respiratory, endocrine, and nervous systems with simulated pathological conditions states and their correction" under the code 0117U001758. He is the head of the expert commission on theoretical disciplines of IFNMU considering the possibility of scientific publications in printed and electronic editions of Ukraine and abroad, and a member of the international network for humanitarian education "Inter NICHE", Great Britain and "DAAE-Germany".

During the work of Prof. Zayats L.M. trained 6 Ph.D. students. At present, he is the scientific supervisor of 5 Ph.D. fellows. Author of more than 340 scientific papers, co-author of 3 textbooks in Ukrainian, 1 monograph, 3 inventions, and useful models.
