Oleksandra Yaroslavivna Pryshlyak graduated with honors from the Institute of Infectious Diseases in 1988. From 1988 to 1990, she studied in clinical residency in the specialty "Infectious Diseases". Since 1990, she has been an assistant at the Department of Infectious Diseases with a course in epidemiology at the Institute of Infectious Diseases. In 1995, she defended her PhD thesis on the topic "Kaleflon and Riboxin in the Complex Treatment of Patients with Viral Hepatitis A and B". Since 1998, she has been an associate professor at the Department of Infectious Diseases with a course in epidemiology. The academic title of associate professor was awarded in 2000. Since 2006, she has been a Doctor of Medical Sciences. She defended her thesis on the topic "The Course of Leptospirosis in Patients with Comorbidity" on September 21, 2006. Since 2007, until August 2013 – Professor of the Department of Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology. Since September 2013 – Head of the Department of Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology of the IFNMU.

Pryshlyak O. Ya. was a member of the working group on the creation of the State Program on the problem of "Chronic Hepatitis C", "Chronic Hepatitis B", an expert on licensing tasks "Step-2", participated in the development of the protocol "Provision of medical care for the treatment of coronavirus disease (COVID-19)".

Professor Pryshlyak O. Ya. carries out medical and consultative work in the regional clinical infectious disease hospital, in medical institutions of the city and the region. She consults patients in all departments of the infectious disease hospital (including the center for combating HIV and AIDS prevention), severe and diagnostic in the consulting room, in the city and region's primary health care facilities.

Oleksandra Yaroslavivna constantly takes part in regional scientific and practical conferences, plenums and congresses of infectious disease specialists of Ukraine, where she shares her experience in the treatment and diagnosis of infectious pathology.

Pryshlyak O. Ya. closely cooperates with health care institutions of the region, constantly provides them with methodological assistance, participates in regional programs, scientific and practical conferences, boards, and final medical councils.

Professor Pryshlyak O. Ya. is the author of more than 200 published scientific works, the main of which are:

- textbook "Epidemiology" for preparation for practical classes for foreign students of higher medical educational institutions of III-IV levels of accreditation with the seal of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine;

- textbook "Practical Infectology" for students of higher medical educational institutions with the seal of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

- national textbook edited by O. A. Golubovskaya "Infectious Diseases" for students of higher medical educational institutions of the IV level of accreditation with the seal of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science, Youth and Sports of Ukraine.

Pryshlyak O.Ya. is the deputy head of the profile cyclic methodological commission on therapeutic disciplines of IFNMU, a member of the medical commission of IFNMU.

Under the leadership of Pryshlyak O.Ya., two master's theses and three candidate dissertations were successfully defended: assistant of the department Marynchak O. V.

"Features of the course of chronic hepatitis C in patients with concomitant diabetes mellitus and treatment correction", postgraduate student of the department Vaskul N.V. "Clinical and laboratory features of the course of chronic hepatitis C in individuals with increased total cardiovascular risk and treatment correction" and assistant Protsyk A.L. "Clinicopathogenetic changes in the functional state of the liver, intestinal biocenosis and optimization of treatment of patients with giardiasis and ascariasis", as well as the candidate's thesis "Clinico-pathogenetic features of measles in adults, prognostic criteria for severe and complicated forms of the disease, treatment correction" by assistant Matviyuk O.Ya., candidate's thesis "Clinico-pathogenetic features of the course of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and optimization of treatment" by assistant Tylishchak Z.R., candidate's thesis "Clinico-pathogenetic features of the course of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and treatment optimization".

The main direction of Oleksandra Yaroslavivna's scientific research is the study of the course of infectious diseases against the background of concomitant pathology.
