The first stage of the revamped competition for research and development projects for universities and research institutions of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine took place from September 12 to October 12.
Overall, participants submitted approximately 750 projects, with the highest number coming from Kyiv (over 250) and also from the Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Odessa, Lviv, and Sumy regions.
The second stage of the competition began on October 12 and will continue until December 12 at the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
This year, research topics were chosen from scientific and scientific-technical issues of ministries, state services, and authorities, and the submitted projects are aimed at addressing defense, security, economic, and societal challenges.
The competition is conducted through a new module of the National Electronic Scientific Information System. This approach allows projects, researchers, and experts to be clearly identified, and the data is secured with digital signatures, Bank ID, or Dія.Підпис.
All projects have been automatically distributed among experts, and after the competition concludes, project leaders will receive feedback in their electronic cabinets.
The funding for projects will be allocated among sections, taking into account the necessity of supporting critical sectors for Ukraine's economy and increasing defense capabilities. Timely selection will enable project funding to commence in early 2024.
