The goal of this school is to familiarize students, postgraduates and young scientists with the methodology of applying data science (Data Science) in the fields of astrophysics, physics, biological sciences and help them acquire practical knowledge that will help in future research or professional work. The school will include lectures from world experts in many fields, as well as practical work in small groups with mentors to further explore methods and applications. After an intensive session, summer school participants will work online on final projects with mentorship from an international panel of experts.

Special guest—David Spergel, President, Simons Foundation, Founding Director of the Center for Computational Astrophysics at the Flatiron Institute, Princeton University, researcher, co-author of more than 300 papers, including some of the most cited papers in physics of the 21st century.

Students, graduate students and young scientists who use DS (Data Science) and ML (Machine Learning) methods in their work are invited to participate. Participants will be selected through selection through an application process. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis. Selected participants will be notified immediately after the relevant decision is made. Applications will be closed after 50 participants are registered.

The costs of participation, travel within Ukraine, food and accommodation are covered by the Simons Foundation. Participants will receive a stipend (hryvnia equivalent of USD 500, including taxes at the time of payment) for active participation in the final projects. The school will be held on the territory of the UCU campus at the address: st. Kozelnytska, 2a, Lviv, 79026, Ukraine. Participants from other cities will be provided with accommodation.
