From 24 September to 1 October 2026, a series of online strategic sessions dedicated to the development of the technology transfer system in Ukraine will take place. Representatives of the research community, higher education institutions and research institutions, startups, innovation infrastructure, government and civil society sectors are invited to participate.

The series of strategic sessions is organised by the State Institution “Ukrainian Institute of Scientific and Technical Expertise and Information” (UkrISTEI), with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, in cooperation with the Ukrainian National Office for Intellectual Property and Innovation and the Ukrainian Technology Transfer Alliance.

The objective is to assess the current state of the technology transfer system in Ukraine, identify the main barriers to its development, and develop proposals to strengthen cooperation among researchers, innovation infrastructure, government and civil society.

24 September at 13:00 — “The Current State of Technology Transfer in Ukraine and the Main Factors Hindering Its Development”

Representatives of the research community, higher education institutions and research institutions, as well as startups and spin-offs established at higher education institutions, are invited to participate.

29 September at 15:00 — “How to Strengthen the Work of Structures Supporting Technology Transfer”

The session is intended for representatives of technology transfer centres, science parks, intellectual property and patenting departments, innovation centres, commercialisation offices and other structures that support technology transfer at higher education institutions, research institutions and other organisations.

1 October at 15:00 — “The Place and Role of the Government and Civil Society in Developing the Technology Transfer System in Ukraine”

Representatives of central executive authorities, civil society organisations and associations, as well as other representatives of the government and civil society sectors, are invited to participate.

During registration, participants will also be invited to complete a survey on their practical experience in technology transfer. The responses received will help ensure that the real needs and challenges faced by stakeholders in the system are taken into account during the strategic sessions.
