Summary of the Second Day of the IV International Conference “Open Science and Innovation in Ukraine 2025”

On October 23, 2025, the work of the international conference dedicated to the development of open science, innovation, and modern approaches to knowledge management continued. The second day of the event brought together experts from universities, research institutions, libraries, international organizations, and government bodies.

Throughout the day, participants discussed the role of open access, copyright, and Creative Commons licensing in ensuring the free exchange of scientific results. Considerable attention was given to editorial practices, peer review, and the indexing of scientific journals in international databases.

Special focus was placed on the legislative regulation of open science in Ukraine and the implementation of the FAIR principles to ensure the openness, accessibility, and reusability of research data. Representatives of scientific publishers, information companies, and research organizations shared their experiences in implementing innovative services that enhance the quality and visibility of scientific outcomes.

In the afternoon, discussions centered on issues of Ukraine’s innovation development, international cooperation, and participation in European programs, including COST. Members of the research community presented successful examples of interdisciplinary projects that strengthen global collaboration and create new opportunities for Ukrainian scientists.

The day concluded with the general meeting of the EIFL-Ukraine Consortium participants, where the outcomes of the conference were summarized, and further steps were outlined to strengthen Ukraine’s position in the fields of open science, digital library services, and international research initiatives.
