By Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated 31 December 2025 No. 1732, the updated Roadmap for Ukraine’s Integration into the European Research Area for the period up to 2027 has been approved.

The Roadmap defines Ukraine’s integration into the European Research Area (ERA) as one of the key strategic priorities for the implementation of the EU–Ukraine Association Agreement. Its main objective is the gradual harmonisation of the national research and innovation system with European policies, approaches, and practices.
The document is aligned with the ERA Policy Agenda for 2025–2027 and is aimed at ensuring systemic transformations in the fields of science and innovation. Key priorities include the development of Open Science, the development and integration of research infrastructures, the implementation of effective research data management, support for knowledge transfer and researcher mobility, as well as the expansion of international scientific cooperation and the enhancement of the competitiveness of Ukrainian science.
The State Scientific and Technical Library of Ukraine (SSTL of Ukraine) plays an active role in the implementation of the Roadmap and is involved in the execution of 23 tasks covering key areas of the national research ecosystem. In particular, the participation of the SSTL of Ukraine is envisaged in the following priority areas:
The involvement of the SSTL of Ukraine in the implementation of the Roadmap highlights the Library’s role as a national centre of expertise in scientific information, Open Science, and research services, as well as a key institutional partner in Ukraine’s integration into the European Research Area.
