The National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of Ukraine and the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) on the basis of the Agreement concluded between them announce the competition of Ukrainian-Polish projects for 2025-2027.

Terms of the competition

From the Ukrainian side, the projects of scientists who work in the institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and whose partners are scientists of the National Academy of Sciences are admitted to the competition.

Agreed applications are submitted by Ukrainian project co-leaders to the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in Ukrainian and English; Polish co-leaders of projects - to the National Academy of Sciences.

The following are not allowed to participate in the competition:
- projects submitted for competition after the end of the specified competition period;
- projects that are not designed according to the rules;
- uncoordinated projects;
- projects submitted by only one party.

Applications admitted to the competition undergo independent examination in parallel. Project expertise is carried out by the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine from the Ukrainian side, and from the Polish Academy of Sciences. Applications are considered by each of the parties independently according to their own rules. Information about the examination is confidential.

The parties jointly summarize the results based on the results of the examination and in accordance with the volume of the established exchange quota. The decision to support the selected projects is approved by the order of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The results of the competition will be determined in December 2024. The approved list of Ukrainian-Polish research projects that will be implemented within the framework of the Agreement on scientific cooperation between the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Polish Academy of Sciences will be published on the website of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in the specified period. The exchange of scientists for conducting research work within the framework of approved projects is carried out according to the established exchange quota.

Financial conditions of scientific exchange

• The sending party covers the travel expenses of its specialists to another country and back.
• The host party covers the costs of providing the scientists with housing, per diems or meals.

The application deadline is October 15, 2024.

Applications for participation in the competition from the Ukrainian side, prepared in accordance with the forms established by the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, should be sent together with a cover letter to the head of the Department of International Relations of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Myronchuk Anatoly Svyatoslavovych at the address:
