Description

The Polish Science Foundation (FNP) has announced the third competition for the best Polish-Ukrainian scientific projects. As part of the 'For Ukraine' program, launched in March 2022, aimed at supporting Ukrainian scientists collaborating with scientists from Poland, FNP will select three more winning pairs of scientists. The winners will study socially relevant issues and processes related to the war in Ukraine.

So far, the Polish Science Foundation has already awarded six grants in two rounds of competitions for participation in the program. The first competition of Polish-Ukrainian scientific projects lasted from April to July 2022. The second has just concluded with 101 applications, of which 91 have been submitted for further evaluation. As a result of a two-stage evaluation, an international jury selected three pairs of winners to receive FNP funding.

According to the FNP program, the awarded projects will make a valuable contribution to the development of knowledge about the current challenges faced by Poland and Ukraine, and will provide answers to the most pressing questions. Funding is provided for 12 months and includes both applicants' salary and costs associated with conducting the research.

Applications for the third contest of the 'For Ukraine' program have just been opened.

The program is addressed to scientists with the degree of Doctor of Sciences, who on the day of the start of the war in Ukraine—February 24, 2022—worked in institutions conducting scientific research in Ukraine (including in the temporarily occupied territories), which will offer a research project in the field of social or humanitarian of Sciences in cooperation with a scientific partner working in Poland.

The deadline for submitting documents is April 4, 2023.
