In August 2023, another competition began for the awarding of state scholarships to the best young scientists to perpetuate the events of the Revolution of Dignity and honor the feat of the Heroes of Ukraine—the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred.

Every year before the Day of Dignity and Freedom, in order to perpetuate the events of the Revolution of Dignity and to commemorate the feat of the Heroes of Ukraine—the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred, these state named scholarships are awarded to the best young scientists for a significant contribution to the development of Ukrainian science, strengthening Ukraine's international authority, contribution to the development of democratic and humanistic values ​​in the field science and education.

According to the results of the competitive selection, the best young scientists will be awarded 25 state nominal scholarships for a period of one year and the amount of two subsistence minimums for able-bodied persons each—in five nominations:

  • scholarship named after Dmytro Maksimov;
  • scholarship named after Nazarii Voytovych;
  • scholarship named after Roman Guryk;
  • scholarship named after Ustym Holodnyuk;
  • scholarship named after Yury Popravka.

The payment of scholarships will begin on January 1, 2024.

A mandatory condition for obtaining a scholarship is that the applicant has significant scientific results in the scientific direction in which he works (in which he studies).

Of particular importance when determining the winners of the competition is the applicant's active civic position regarding the protection of democratic values, rights and freedoms of man and citizen, national interests of the state, its European choice, as well as in the formation of national self-awareness, dignity and a sense of patriotism.

Scientific, scientific and pedagogical workers, post-graduate students, assistant professors, doctoral students of higher education institutions and scientific institutions can participate in the competition. As of January 1, 2024, the age of applicants for the award cannot exceed 35 years, inclusive, for persons who have a higher education of at least the second (master's) level, and 40 years, inclusive, for persons who have a scientific degree of Doctor of Sciences.

By September 20, 2023, applicants for these scholarships must send documents in paper and electronic form to the following address: Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, 10 Beresteyskyi Avenue, Kyiv, 01135, and fill out the electronic form.
