The State Scientific and Technical Library of Ukraine invites researchers and academic professionals to join a webinar dedicated to the pressing issue of retraction of scientific publications from academic journals — a key mechanism for ensuring research quality and academic integrity.

During the webinar, participants will learn about the main reasons for article retraction, ranging from unintentional errors in data and methodology to serious violations of research ethics, including plagiarism, data fabrication, and falsification of results.

The program will cover:

• international retraction procedures in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE);
  
• the role of editorial boards and publishers in the retraction process;
  
• the importance of monitoring initiatives and databases such as Retraction Watch in global scholarly communication.
  

Special attention will be given to prevention strategies: practical recommendations for researchers on how to avoid mistakes that may lead to retraction, as well as guidance on how to act responsibly if problems are identified in one’s own published work.

The webinar will be of interest to researchers, PhD students, editors of scholarly journals, librarians, and everyone committed to upholding high standards of academic integrity and responsible research practices.
