In the context of popularizing Ukraine as an innovative country with a strong scientific potential, we would like to inform you about the possibility of presenting Ukrainian innovative projects as part of the prestigious competition for the Zayed Sustainability Prize.

'Zayed Sustainability Prize' is an international award founded in honor of the first president of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed, which recognizes innovative solutions in the field of improving lives and achieving the goals of sustainable development. Over the past 15 years, the Zayed Prize has been awarded to 106 winners whose research or development has improved the lives of nearly 400 million people. In 2023, applications for the prize competition have already been received from 152 countries.

Participants include research organizations, scientific institutions, educational institutions and young scientists. The prize fund is 3 million US dollars, which is distributed among the winners (600 thousand US dollars each) according to the following nominations:

• 'Health care'
• 'Food safety'
• 'Energy efficiency'
• 'Aquatic resources'
• 'Global high schools' (nomination for young scientists—high school students).
  

When developing projects, it is necessary to adhere to the following criteria:

• scale (covering the largest possible target audience),
• innovative component,
• compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals,
• implementation of the project within 1–2 years and the long-term effect of its implementation.
  

The award winners will be announced during the COP28 climate summit in Dubai in November 2023.
