Iryna Drapak graduated with honors from the Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University with a master's degree in Pharmacy. Since 2004, he has been working at the Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University as a senior laboratory assistant, assistant professor, associate professor, professor, head of the department. From 02/19/2020 - until now - head of the department of general, bioinorganic, physical-colloid chemistry (from 02/25/26, the department of general, medical and toxicological chemistry).
The PhD dissertation “Study of the “structure-action” relationship of anti-tuberculosis drugs - derivatives of α-, β-, γ-pyridinecarboxylic acids by quantum chemistry methods” was defended on 15.01.2009 in the specialized academic council D35.600.02 of the Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University. The academic title of associate professor was awarded in 2012. Doctoral dissertation of Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences in specialty 15.00.02 - pharmaceutical chemistry and pharmacognosy “Targeted search for biologically active substances based on five-membered heterocycles and related heterocyclic systems for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases” was defended on 17.09.2020 in the specialized academic council D17.600.03 of the Zaporizhia National Medical University. The academic title of professor was awarded in 2021.
She combines pedagogical, scientific, methodological and public work. Since 2009, she is scientific secretary of the doctoral specialized academic council D35.600.02, Since 2019, she is responsible for the activities of specialized academic councils on awarding the degree of PHD at the Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University. She is expert of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine in the field of "Pharmacy. Clinical Pharmacy. Clinical Pharmacology" and member of the Expert Council on Theoretical and Preventive Medicine and Pharmacy of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
She works in the field of medicinal chemistry, in silico design, virtual screening, and targeted creation of new biologically active substances – potential drugs. She is the author of 635 scientific and educational and methodological works.
