Yuliia Kovalenko was born on May 24, 1971 in Rubizhne, Luhansk region. She graduated from the theoretical department of the Severodonetsky Regional S. Prokofiev Music College, in Music Theory (1990, with honors), I. P. Kotlyarevsky Kharkiv State Institute of Arts in Musicology (1996, with honors), received the qualification "Musicologist, teacher".
In 2009, Yuliia Kovalenko defended her candidate's thesis on the topic "Serhiy Slonymsky's Opera Theater in interaction with the artistic tradition" under the scientific supervision of Professor Adilia Mizitova. The research was carried out on the analysis of 8 operas scores by this composer.
Yuliia Kovalenko has 34 years of teaching experience. The experience of research activity is 27 years. She has been working at the Kharkiv State Academy of Culture since 2005. Yuliia carries out scientific and pedagogical activities at the department of television reporting skills, teaches the courses "Master the host and correspondent in the production of audiovisual works", "Video blogging", "Mastery of conducting video broadcasts", "Organization and conducting of web conferences and webinars", "Basics of video editing", "Social Network Blogging". In 2019, she received the academic title of associate professor of television reporting skills department. Yulia Kovalenko has 42 publications, including 34 scientific and 8 educational and methodological ones. For 10 years, she has also been teaching music-theoretical disciplines at the Kharkiv Higher College of Arts.
