In 2023, two competitive selections of projects for fundamental scientific research, scientific studies, and scientific-technical (experimental) developments were held . One was intended for young scientists working (studying) in institutions of higher education and research institutions of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, and the other was the main competition for higher education institutions and national universities under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

In total, in 2023, 145 projects were submitted in the second stage of the competition among young scientists, and 750 projects in the main competition among higher education institutions and research institutions.

Based on the results of scientific and scientific-technical expertise, a list of 79 research projects and/or developments of young scientists and 219 research and development projects of higher education institutions and national universities from the main competition was approved. These projects will be financed from the state budget of Ukraine in the coming year.
