Competition for Representatives of Ukraine in the Horizon Europe Program Committees Begins

The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has announced a competitive selection process for representatives of Ukraine to participate in the committees responsible for monitoring the implementation of the European Union's Horizon Europe Framework Program for Research and Innovation.

Applications can be submitted until November 9, 2023.

The role of a representative in the program committee involves analyzing the results of project implementation in thematic areas, preparing work programs, and determining research priorities for future Horizon Europe program competitions. The representatives are expected to advocate for Ukraine's national interests and draw attention to critical issues in the field of science and innovation.

The competition is held in accordance with the Procedure for conducting a competition for the selection of representatives of Ukraine to committees responsible for monitoring the implementation of the Horizon Europe Framework Program for Research and Innovation (hereinafter - the Procedure), approved by the Commission for the selection of representatives of Ukraine to committees responsible for monitoring the implementation of the Horizon Europe Framework Program for Research and Innovation on September 28, 2023, protocol No. 1, established by the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated March 16, 2023, No. 288 (with amendments).

Both representatives from the scientific community and representatives from central executive authorities can participate in the competition.

The list of program committees for which the competition is announced includes:

  1. Strategic Configuration: Strategic Review of the Entire Program, Consistency of Individual Work Programs, Various Parts of the Program, Including Missions.
  2. European Research Council.
  3. Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions.
  4. Research Infrastructures.
  5. Health.
  6. Culture, Creativity, and Inclusive Society.
  7. Civil Security for Society.
  8. Digitalization, Industry, and Space.
  9. Climate, Energy, and Mobility.
  10. Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture, and Environment.
  11. European Innovation Council and European Innovation Ecosystems.
  12. Widening Participation and Strengthening the European Research Area.
  13. Euratom - Split (Division).
  14. Euratom - Thermonuclear Fusion.

To participate in the competition, candidates must submit a set of documents as specified in the Procedure.

Candidates are responsible for the accuracy of the documents submitted for the competition.

After the deadline for document submission, the commission will hold a meeting within the next ten working days to select candidates.

The commission's decision on the results of the competition will be published on the official website of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine within five working days after approval by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. The decisions will also be sent to the candidates at the email addresses provided in the documents submitted for the competition.
