The competition for the election of members of the Scientific Council of the NRFU has been extended until September 30
The Identification Committee of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine has extended the deadline for submitting documents to participate in the competition for the election of members of the Scientific Council of the NRFU. Documents may be submitted until and including September 30, 2026.
The competition has been announced for 16 vacant positions in three sections of the Scientific Council:
- 7 positions — Section of Natural Sciences, Engineering and Mathematics;
- 5 positions — Section of Biology, Medicine and Agricultural Sciences;
- 4 positions — Section of Social Sciences and Humanities.
Members of the Scientific Council are elected for a four-year term.
The Scientific Council is a collegial governing body of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine. Its members participate in developing approaches to grant support for research, determining the conditions of competitions, and developing the system for financing fundamental and applied research.
Candidates to participate in the competition may be nominated by the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, national branch academies of sciences, research institutions, higher education institutions, public scientific organizations, as well as groups of at least five scientists who hold a scientific degree. Self-nomination is not permitted.
For researchers, participation in the work of the Scientific Council is an opportunity to contribute to shaping strategic approaches to the activities of the NRFU, developing grant support for research, and improving mechanisms for supporting Ukrainian science.
The Scientific Committee has also prepared an infographic entitled “7 Reasons to Join the Scientific Council of the NRFU,” which highlights the importance of the Scientific Council’s work and the opportunities available to members of the research community.
