Deputy Minister of Education and Science Denis Kurbatov announced the first step in deregulating the reporting process and the work of research teams of higher education institutions and research institutions funded by the Ministry of Education and Science, including the National Research Fund.

Researchers can now submit interim reports not according to the DSTU 3008:2015 standard but using a simplified form. This form includes concise information about the project, its results, performance indicators, and copies of publications.

The change applies to the performers of research and development funded by the state budget under the following program expenditure codes:

• 2201040 "Scientific and scientific-technical activities of higher education institutions and research institutions";
• 2201300 "Ensuring the activities of the National Research Fund of Ukraine, grant support for scientific research and scientific-technical (experimental) developments";
• 2201380 "Fulfillment of Ukraine's obligations in the field of international scientific, technical, and educational cooperation, participation in the European Union Framework Program for Research and Innovation";
• 2201390 "Support for priority areas of scientific research and scientific-technical (experimental) developments in higher education institutions";
• 2201410 "Scientific and scientific-technical activities at the Antarctic station 'Academic Vernadsky.'"
