The Ministry of Education and Science held a meeting of the competition commission to choose candidates for state scholarships named after the best young scientists in memory of the events of the Revolution of Dignity and in honor of the heroism of the Heavenly Hundred in 2023. The meeting was chaired by the newly elected commission chairman, Grigoriy Mozolevich.

The purpose of the meeting was to determine the winners of the state scholarships, distributed among the following five categories: Dmitry Maksymov Scholarship, Nazariy Voytovych Scholarship, Roman Huryk Scholarship, Ustim Holodniuk Scholarship, and Yuriy Popravka Scholarship.

The candidates were selected through a two-stage process: the first stage involved allocating scholarships within the quotas specified in the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine's resolution dated November 21, 2018, with subsequent amendments. In the second stage, the winners were divided into the five categories mentioned above.

On the MOES website, a section titled "State Scholarships Named After the Best Young Scientists in Memory of the Events of the Revolution of Dignity and in Honor of the Heroism of the Heavenly Hundred" contains the biographies and photos of the mentioned heroes.

During the selection process, the candidates' active civic positions in defense of democratic values, human and citizen rights and freedoms, national interests, and the European choice of Ukraine, as well as their contribution to shaping national self-awareness, dignity, and patriotism, played a significant role.

Out of 96 applicants from government agencies, the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and national branch academies of sciences in Ukraine, 25 scholarship recipients were chosen based on the results of the competition.

In honor of the Day of Dignity and Freedom celebrated on November 21, the MOES will award 25 scholarships, each lasting one year and amounting to two subsistence minimums for able-bodied individuals. The scholarship payments will commence on January 1, 2024.
