On May 22, 2026, representatives of the State Scientific and Technical Library of Ukraine participated in the international CRIS2026 Conference. This year’s conference theme focused on the transformation of modern research information systems in the context of artificial intelligence development, open science, and new approaches to research assessment.

During the conference, specialists from the State Scientific and Technical Library of Ukraine presented new functionalities of the Ukrainian CRIS system URIS — a national tool for the management and integration of research information. Particular attention was given to the development of open research infrastructures, support for FAIR and Open Science principles, and the integration of URIS with international standards for research data exchange.

As part of the presentations and professional discussions, the Ukrainian delegation demonstrated practical solutions for the development of researcher profiles, aggregation of research metadata, support for persistent identifiers, and the application of modern approaches to research analytics. Special emphasis was placed on the future development of URIS as a component of both the national and European research information ecosystem.

Participation in CRIS2026 provided an important opportunity for the State Scientific and Technical Library of Ukraine to exchange experience with the international community, establish professional connections, and present Ukrainian achievements in the field of research information systems at the global level.

The CRIS2026 Conference brought together researchers, librarians, research information administrators, representatives of universities and funding organisations, and CRIS system developers from around the world. Key topics of the event included the application of artificial intelligence in research information management, open infrastructures, the development of open-source solutions, CERIF standards, and the responsible use of research metrics.
