Submission Period for PhD Project Competition within the “Project-Based PhD” Initiative Officially Closed

The submission period for the competition of research PhD projects within the experimental “project-based PhD” initiative has officially concluded. We sincerely thank all higher education institutions and research organizations that joined the initiative and submitted their project proposals through the URIS system.

In total, 137 applications were submitted by 40 universities and research institutions across Ukraine. The active participation of educational and scientific institutions demonstrates strong interest in the new model of doctoral training focused on the integration of research, innovation, and practical outcomes.

The highest numbers of applications were submitted by:

  • National Aviation University (KAI) — 17 applications
  • National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” — 16 applications
  • Lviv Polytechnic National University — 10 applications
  • Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv — 10 applications
  • Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University — 7 applications
  • Institute of Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine — 5 applications
  • Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies — 5 applications
  • Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University — 5 applications

We would also like to remind that, under the updated competition conditions, institutions accredited in engineering and technology, biomedical, and agricultural/veterinary fields were additionally admitted to participate, while all submissions were carried out through the URIS system.

The competition is now moving to the expert review and evaluation stage of the submitted PhD projects.
