The NGO Ukrainian Scientific Diaspora is launching a new track of the “Scientific Diaspora for Ukraine” programme: mentoring for research hubs. The programme is scheduled to start in November 2026.

The programme supports research teams in Ukraine by fostering collaboration with Ukrainian researchers and professionals working abroad. For three months, a research hub team will work together with a mentor on its own goals. These may include:

• developing international partnerships;
• preparing joint research and publications;
• developing grant proposals and initiatives;
• identifying international opportunities;
• expanding professional networks.

Timeline

Mentoring will take place in two waves:

• Wave I: November 2026 – January 2027;
• Wave II: February – April 2027.

Who can participate

Research hubs created on the Ukrainian Scientific Diaspora platform can participate. A research hub brings together researchers with shared scientific interests, research topics, or an interest in developing joint projects. Each hub can present its team on the platform’s interactive map.

The initiative is implemented by the NGO Ukrainian Scientific Diaspora and the NGO Innovative University as part of the project “Scientific Diaspora and Diplomacy: Building Bridges of Solidarity with Ukraine.” The project was supported through the “Bridges of Solidarity with Ukraine” competition of the International Renaissance Foundation.
