The Law of Ukraine No. 4794-IX "On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine 'On Scientific and Scientific-Technical Activity' regarding Research Infrastructure and Support for Young Scientists" officially entered into force.The document updates the regulations in the field of scientific research and introduces several key innovations.Key Innovations of Law No. 4794-IX

• Postdoctoral Fellowship Institute: The law officially establishes the concept of a "postdoctoral researcher." Higher education institutions and scientific organizations can now create competitive programs for postdoctoral scientific research.
• Concept of "Open Science": The principles of open access to scientific results and research data are now legally recognized.
• Registry of Research Infrastructure: The law provides for the creation of a unified state registry to track and efficiently utilize scientific facilities (which can be local, distributed, digital, or virtual).
• Project Management: The concept of a "scientific supervisor of a scientific (scientific-technical) project" has been introduced. A specialist can now be appointed as a project supervisor regardless of whether they hold an academic degree or title.
• Expanded Grant Support: The National Research Foundation of Ukraine can now award grants for postgraduate (PhD), residency, and doctoral programs. The Foundation is also authorized to organize competitive selections, including for the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Award for Young Scientists.
