The Ukrainian scientist Oleksandra Antoniuk became a new chairperson for the Scientific Committee of the National Council of Ukraine for Science and Technology Development

On October 6, 2023, during a meeting of the Scientific Committee of the National Council of Ukraine for Science and Technology Development, a new chairperson for this committee was elected. The Ukrainian scientist Oleksandra Antoniuk now leads this committee.

The decision was supported by 18 out of 21 members who were present at the meeting of the Scientific Committee.

Oleksii Kolezhuk was elected as the deputy chair, and Andrii Trokhymchuk became the secretary.

Oleksandra Antoniuk is a mathematician with a Ph.D. in physical and mathematical sciences. She is a leading researcher at the Institute of Mathematics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and an active promoter of science among young people.

"I am grateful for the trust of the members of the Scientific Committee. It is both an honor and a responsibility for me. I am convinced that through joint efforts and strong consolidation of our scientific community, we will make important strides for the effective work of Ukrainian science and its future," noted the new head of the committee.

Note: The National Council for Science and Technology Development has two committees – the Scientific Committee and the Administrative Committee. The Scientific Committee is a working collegial body consisting of 24 leaders of the scientific community and represents the interests of the scientific community.
