The International Symposium on Black Sea Day 2026 will be held on October 31, 2026, at Odesa I. I. Mechnikov National University in a hybrid format (in-person and online).
The aim of the Symposium is to bring together researchers from different fields to study the Black Sea and the wider Black Sea region from diverse disciplinary and interdisciplinary perspectives.
We welcome research on the hydrology and oceanography of the Black Sea, with particular attention to marine and coastal processes, hydrodynamics, water resources, climate variability and climate change, environmental dynamics, and the functioning and resilience of aquatic ecosystems. Contributions addressing environmental monitoring, pollution, biodiversity, ecosystem services, and the sustainable management of the Black Sea are also welcome.
The programme will also provide an opportunity to present interdisciplinary research on broader issues related to the Black Sea region, including its societies, history and cultural heritage, languages and literature, politics and international relations, law, economics, and other related topics.
Researchers, academics, and experts from various fields are invited to submit materials presenting the results of their research.
Materials should be submitted electronically in .doc or .docx format. The file should be named after the surname of the first author (presenting author), for example: Ivanov.docx.
