Lifetime State Scholarships Awarded to Eight Outstanding Figures in Science

On 25 September 2026, by Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 952/2026, lifetime state scholarships were awarded to eight outstanding figures in science who have reached the age of seventy. Office of the President of Ukraine

Lifetime state scholarships were awarded to:

  • Valentyn Bahatskyi — Doctor of Technical Sciences, Senior Researcher;
  • Oleksandr Zhuk — Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Senior Researcher, laureate of the Borys Paton National Prize of Ukraine;
  • Anatolii Kamynskyi — Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology;
  • Borys Kiforenko — Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor;
  • Volodymyr Koshmanenko — Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor;
  • Viacheslav Sichkar — Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor;
  • Petro Stapai — Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor;
  • Oleksii Fedorus — Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Senior Researcher, laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology and the USSR State Prize.

The Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 906/2011 of 10 September 2011, “On State Scholarships for Outstanding Figures in Science, Education, Culture and Arts, Healthcare, Physical Culture and Sports, and the Information Sector,” provides for state scholarships to representatives of the main sectors of social life. Lifetime state scholarships for outstanding figures in science are awarded to individuals who have reached the age of seventy. Office of the President of Ukraine

The awarding of lifetime state scholarships is a form of state support and recognition of scientists’ long-term contributions to the development of Ukrainian science, the training of new generations of researchers, and the strengthening of the country’s scientific potential.
